Why a shared inbox is not an owner
A queue can help a team organize work, but it cannot by itself establish who accepted responsibility. The product needs a deliberate ownership model that fits the organization’s staffing, authority, and clinical policies.
What should a company leader ask for?
Before launch
Map the role that owns each alert type and where that assignment becomes ambiguous across shifts, sites, or teams.
During testing
Test missed acknowledgements, handoffs between shifts, duplicate alerts, downtime, and the audit trail a reviewer can reconstruct.
After launch
Measure time to acknowledgement and resolution, review escalations, and give a named operator authority to tune or pause the workflow.
